I recently purchased G4. I do not recommend it if you are using the sim for practice. All the added features are "bling", mostly flying off water stuff.

I think that the AFPD is better the G3.5 have them both the AFPD is more realistic then the G3 in airplanes but... the G3 is better in heli's in AFPD we have a realistic planes like the krill katana's and 3W yak 54 and there are many and many... but I love them both they are great simulators and they both give me a lot of conficance in practices and when I fly for real it's better then without a simulator... bye everone 3Dman |

I do not have G3 so I can not compare, but the models from the latest AddOn (Team System 1) are great. The Beryl is a superb implementation of a electric F3A model.

Hello, I think that AFPD is better ... especialy for 3D flight!G3.5 in some maneuvers 3D is not real, and for done some 3D You need to change very the plane... ![]() BYE!

| I have AeroFly Pro Deluxe, Realflight-G3, Reflex XTR, and Phoenix RC, and I find myself using Aerofly 99% of the time. As far as being more realistic and able to do the most tweaks, XTR is probably the best, but the support is terrible and there's a definite language barrier. G3 if fun to play online with others, but the program is a resource hog, and the big planes don't feel real to me. Aerofly, although there are some things I'd like to see improve on, has the most life like feel when flying the big IMAC style planes. It also works on just about any computer. |

I got a chance to fly the Yak 54.. i mean the QQ ... & also flew the 3W yak... on AFPD & it flies almost like real... also i have flown the yak in G3 & its.... ....... very bad... just didnt like it... But most of the time i fly the stock 3w extra on AFPD for IMAC practice its the best plane you can find for practice......

AFPD is easier to learn 3D and IMAC maneuvers but it does not feel like the real thing, the g3.5 does IMO the AFPD airplanes flys like big foamies and the helis well g3.5 hands down |

Flying in afpd feels like your playing some kind of arcade airplane game and G3/4 feels more like a simulator. Though i have only flown afpd version 1.9.1.3 or something, but it just feels wrong in everyway of 3d flying. Its like flying in some kind of jelly liquidish material, not between air particles. Have anyone of you actually flown rc airplane, if you say afpd better than G series? cmon people. Sure afpd is good for learning what happends when you push stick to here and there, but hey, FMS does the same thing for free Ok, other than 3D flying afpd is ok, but still feels like a 20$ game. In G3 series you get pretty good physics comparing to real world, but G4 didnt bring whole lot to the game. I would want to try was it Phoenix or Reflex though.

I have both and there is no comparison between the two, AFPD is far, far superior. I fly a 33% SD models Yak and the giant scale stuff in AFPD is very, very close to the real thing. Go to the "free stuff" part of their website and download the Yak. It's fantastic. Keep in mind any of the planes can be edited to very closely replicate the plane you are flying. By tweaking the CG, prowash over the controls, throws, prop and rpm you will be amazed at what you can do. I made the Yak fly virtually identical to mine with only minor tweaks to CG, throws and propwash. The TOC Giles is an excellent 3D trainer but it is set up extremely tail-heavy. It is the easiest plane to help you learn to hover. The Cap is OK but I would recommend moving the CG aft and increasing prowash over the ailerons and tail. It is a bit snap happy as it comes with the sim and not very representative of modern giant scale 3D birds. I have not flown a giant scale Extra but find the AFPD model a little weird in that it takes a very healthy burst of power to get it past a harrier into a vertical hovering position. Once there it hovers and harrier rolls very well. Most planes including my Yak can be smoothly brought to a vertical hover position out of a harrier, a wall or simply mushing it into a hover. I've tried editing the Extra but have not been as successful as with the Yak, Giles or Cap. For you jet flyers you can't beat the F-16 in AFPD. I can't compare it to any of the F-16 models out there but can tell you it flies almost identical to my Jetcat P-80 powered Hotspot. Neither have flaps so you need to know how to slow down, get the nose up, power back in established in slow flight to set up for approach. If you can do it with the F-16 in Aerofly you can fly a Hotspot. The F-16 has the added bonus of being unforgiving of low airspeed. Get too slow and it rolls on its back. It'll teach you speed control! The Learjet is fantastic and the downloadable King Cat is far better than the one in Realflight. Both will get you great experience with flaps. |
