5945 served us well just like 8411 did - they are in my book previous generation servos and the stuff we get now is much improved - the older type servos had there problems but there was nothing better - now there is!! i still have many 5945'sthat do ok!

Help! Re: Hitec 5945 Metal Geared Servos bushing wear.

Hi "flyin woodbutcher" sounds like a good idea you posted
"your qoute"

Hitec should offer a good repair/fix for this problem. Maybe a case top with the BRASS bushing.

PS my title for post should be about the upper plastic housing that steel shaft rides in..there is no bushing or bearing at all..
just a steel rod that pivits in plastic..

PS ALL my intereior servos gears are perfect and have no wear at all..

Ideally the gear pin should remain stationary and the gear rotate on the pin. I also have quite a few of these servos and have noticed no problem but I will check mine again to be sure thanks for the heads up

If a mfg were to do it right....the cases would be designed with bearing in then. The problems with bushing are that they are a wearable item. It's not if they wear.....it's when and how fast.
