I just love it! Each time I open the FG site I see the Giants From South Africa mostly at the top of the Forums!

Exceptional planes Borries, Damien, Hodderjohn and Steven. If someone is prepared to open his plane for inspection on the inside it shows he is realy proud of it - nice one Borries!

What surface did they use for the runway in the Vlei? We are stuck between a tar and slurry(like on tenniscourts) for our proposed new runways and if any of you guys can give some input it would be appreciated.

Hey Trev, I was thinking, couldn't you put a cannister on the ol' 65cc? That may give you the power you need for the Extra, or not?

Hey D yip that would diffinatly work plus it needs a new silencer doesn't it LOL

But honestly I think that it might even do the job well without a can cuase that thing will laugh at a 24 x 10 and the plane is really light it was 20LBS with the 100 twin and the 65 is 700 grams lighter than the 100 was my only doubt is will I have to put weight in the nose......... I dont know yet but maybe I should start looking at it .

The can will be nice on that motor. Which do you think I sould look at?

Peter when are you planing to go to this 1900km trek.
I am going at the end of August I think to fly with Dries ( Andreas ) and the guys up there. I think its about 100km south of Walfisbay at a full size airport.

Thanks Henk

The photo's was take on the day of the maiden, as soon as our planes exeed 7kg it has to pass a MOP inspection, if you don't pass you don't fly !!!! and at our club there is a 93db limit and the same if it is above that you don't fly !! there for the need for pipes and 3 blade props.
