Help! Please read...!!!! 33 - 35% guidance!!!

Hello everyone....!
I'm willing to take the step up to 33-35% scale plane.
There's only a minor issue on selecting the right plane: I live all the way up to 8000ft over sea level. It MUST be a light plane.

With this in mind I've started looking for the right choice. It must be a KIT since I like building my own planes, I can strip some weight off, and I love the freedom to choose the way it will end covered up...!

My first option would be the AW Edge 35% Builders kit. I´ll put a DA 100 in the front (Are there any other brands...? ). I intend to punch holes in the airframe everywhere I can with as little weak points as possible, and of course buy all CF parts available.

Can you builders/pilots, write down what you've felt or heard regarding this plane? Have you known or heard final weight on this configuration?

And if possible... could you tell me which other light planes brands are up to consider?
Any plane within the 33 - 35% range would be OK.

Thanx in advance for any input. I'd love to hear from you!

Best regards.

Oliver Soto

Have you checked out the Dalton 35% 260? Carden also has a 35% 260 and Yak, but I believe that the Dalton is a touch lighter, but that all depends on how the builder lightens up the airframes. there is more to remove out of a Carden, but it starts heavier than the Dalton.

A guy that lives near me has one of the original TBM 260's that is crazy light. There was a guy kitting a version of the TBM 260 with the foam ribs, but I don't believe that he is still kitting them.

Oliver

Here is a build thread on the Dalton:
35% Dalton Extra 260

jmiracle on here uses single aileron servos in his 35% cardens. I think he uses 5955's, If you go with a carden you might check into running single servos, 8711 or 5955 would probably work to save more weight assuming that the ailerons are stiff enough.

Yeah.. I've been reading this plane's building thread.
At first I thought it was heavy... and it can be depending on your configuration...!
But what draws my attention the most is the large wing area. Now it comes the issue on the engine's capability to move it around with power enough since it'll be an IMAC plane more than a 3D or freestye bird (I mean: Larger plane= more air resistance). But even then... at 22-24lb that should not worry me...
Do you know who owns one on the weight you stated?
Thanks a lot

Vic, you must have missed the part where he said he already knows what engine he is going to use. Better read a little closer next time.

No problem at all.... I'm willing to consider options....
Thanks a lot all of you.

Well... there's one more thing worth recalling here:

Kit includes CF parts...!!!!
No looking for these parts anymore....!
This is getting soooo interesting....!!!
