Nobody should take any offence to this.Down here flying stahl aerobatic manuvers for the most part is just frowned upon(For now, this to shall change).Any given day at the field i fly at will have roughly 9 jets-7 helis-15 warbirds-2 33% to 40%.The only time i can go and get some good practice in is by going at the end of the day when everybody is packing up,Get the runway for two quick flights and its dark. And when we have events they just dont want anybody hanging on the prop when there are alot of high speed passes going on.Almost all advertised events down here will say no 3d flying.Guys like me at best will get asked to due a half time show. When i lived in Ohio it was the opposite,3D events with a jet halftime show. The only way anybody in florida can go to a 3d only event is to go to the HOTLANTA HUCKFEST........THANK GOD......But seriously down here from what i have seen it just makes SAFE SENCE

Just do like we do...come out in the late afternoon and when its windy

cant tell where the bridge is , but any time come to our field and just have at it. we love it and we allow anything that goes in the air to fly. check out our web site wwwonewinglowsquadron.org we are right outside ocala or gainesville however you want to look at it. we have helis, sailplanes warbirds and 3d all flying at the same time. hey its supposed to be a airport right. all we ask is just dont do it on the runway thats all. come on over when ever you want. we welcome anyone who wants to fly and has ama. (no clicks) at our field. we make fun of everything and everyone. you get the first hour to get used to us then your fair game... hahah

alright lets relax a little guys. lol. When i first posted, my reaction was to the way frank had worded the restriction. By saying no 3d type aircraft basically implies no giant scale aerobatic planes as they are generally all capable of 3D. According to Roger what he really meant was no 3D flying. If he would have said that in the first place then none of this confusion and ruckus would have happened. Theres nothing wrong with no 3D flying, i totally understand why you wouldn't want a bunch of us young punks hovering over the runway while other people are trying to fly their war birds low and fast.

You've spoken so close the thread?? Whatever.

He didn't say "NO AEROBATICS AT ALL! PERIOD!" he said "no "3D" type aerobatics"

Anyone ever see anything about the La Ferte giant scale events? They get the biggest things in the air there, and guess what.... they don't do 3D! and it's STILL an awesome event.

3D is not the only style of flying.... there's still other things that are fun...

I think it sounds like a cool idea, and will be looking forward to it. If only i had that 1/3 scale J3 Cub i want......

Actually, La Ferte DOES have 3D flying. I have never been, but have a couple of the videos. Very cool event!

I think this is a great idea. Without the Large 3D Models flying, the crashes should be impressive and plentiful!!!!! Nothing like a 40lb P-47 with a G62 wallowing into the ground because the pilot yanked it off on take-off!!!! They should be able to fill up a Crasher Video just from this event!!!!

Hi my name is Frank

I’m looking to put together a Big Bird Fly in.

I am looking at STRONG awards in several categories, awards that will
include Cash and a prestigious trophy. (What a turd)

What I need are old farts and really bad pilots in half ass control over their 30lbs plus planes.

It should be a lot of fun. (And dangerous)

P.S. if you fly better than me don’t show up because I won’t let you fly.

You see I’m a really big fish in a really really small pond.

Thank You

Gay fat guy

Dude that is by far the funniest retort I have read on Flying Giants EVER!!! Without going into the details for fear of flame city, I went to a Top Gun years ago and it was a real slap in the face of this level of the industry. I went from Import automotive races where I was amongst 20-30 somethings crawling around 200k race cars with very friendly racers to standing around a bunch of overweight 50-60 year old MEN freaking if I stood closer than 5 feet from their 20-40k TOY! They acted like they were curing cancer with their planes/jets. It just bothers me when people consider their possesions more important than the people they come into contact with. Just remember you can't take it with you!

3DFreak576 - You says it all IMO.

If he really wanted to make his big-bird event special- disallow all ARF aircraft. That alone would squash the majority of the 3D element he apparently wants to limit. - but wait- then it might look like BIGGIE SIZED TOP GUN?
