Get a NICE plane and you won't believe the difference.
I was getting SO frustrated, and kept asking myself.. why can't I do the things other are doing.. am I going to suck forever.... but... when I got a good plane for the first time.. I couldn't believe it... it was a night and day difference.

The tip stall and wing rock you speak of are a product of higher wing loading and possibly incidance issues...

Get a good plane. You will save money in the long run.
my .02

i will some day heheh, another issue i have its my hitec eclipes doesnt have dual elevator, so i have Ycord.. thus one elevator moves more then the other haha

Buy an Aeroworks- First class plane, workmanship, with great customer service to back it up. I would not take a chance, however different strokes for different folks

I took a look at it and wasn't very impressed. I know that they have some good planes but that looks about as ugly as it is cheap.

I have seen 1 seagulls edge and it actually flew nice. I flew it myself. I have also flown their yak, 2 of the 260's. They were all terrible. Nasty snap tendencies, flew very heavy, and with the cg way forward still tried to do wheelies through the air. I won't knock anybody's bird but I would never own one after the poor performance in the few I've seen, flown, and tried to help fly better. If you have one and were able to make it work, you should write them and tell them what to change and print it in the instruction manuals cause you either have one of the few glued together right or really know your s!!! I'm not saying don't buy one, I'm just saying I don't want anything to do with one ever again.

I know this thread is a little old, but i have seagulls models extra 260 180 size, and it is the best plane i have ever had my hands on and i have had and flown quite a few from everybody. all the bad tendicies that you all talked about is because of the way they were put together. for an arf, Seagull's quality is great....IMHO

seagull models are typically pretty heavy, hope this isn't the case with their larger models.

ok i will settle on gotten better cause the ones i have had and have now are pretty light and constructed very well. I was highly impressed with the quality. looking at the 260,160-180 size, mine weighs 11.5 lbs, 12.5 with smoke. pulling it with a os 160, it hauls azz and does everything i tell it to do.

Me too. It is in a border state with me and I'd ride down there in a New York minute if I had the $$$

Okay I just found this thread and went to Horizon and Seagull and can find no mention of a 33% plane. I was interested enough in their little 63 inch 260 but they say it can go 9.9 lbs !

I tried a 10 pound plane with a 63 inch wing once. Never again unless it has a turbine. Maybe a loaded warbird. Probably not though.

Why anyone would waste money and TIME on a Seagull kit gets me dumbfounded. Junk!!! Just hold on to your money and pluck it down on a reputable manufacturer's kit when you can afford one. You'll thank me later.
