Default Team Taylorcraft Flys

Bill Cline and myself just maidened these two birds.
Scratch built from Bob Nelitz 1/3 scale clipped wing plans we modified.
112" wing span
Powered by DA 100s
Futaba Faast system 6014 rec.
9155 servos in one and 9156s in the other
Monocote covering
Du-pont paint
and weighs in at 29 1/2lbs. dry.
Both planes took 4 clicks down trim and 3 clicks right trim.
Plane is very docile on low rates and extremely active on high rates
and has unlimited vertical.
We are well pleased with the out come and will have lots of fun flying
these birds this summer.

Rick

Rick, where can you buy these plans for the 1/3 T-Craft. You guys build some great looking Taylorcraft. I would be interested where to get the plans, and would appreciate any information I could get.
Thank You.

Pitviper51, This type Taylorcraft is not normal civilian plane! Bud Jydy in late seventies, won Advanced class at IAC nationals at Fon du Lac with his 180 HP Cliped wing Taylorcraft.

Great T-Crafts Guys! I just flew one this morning that lonny Weitzel from Texarkana built from Nelitz plans. Came out at 21lbs. Very good flier. He did the Crimson and Creme also. He asked some close by friends in Shreveport....Duane Cole's brother(Marion), Nephew and great nephew if they minded if he put his own name on upside down. they said "Go For it."

Kevin, You can fly mine at the DOGS show. The plans came from Reids Models and the cowls from Fiberglass specialties. All of the rest has to be fabbed. What a great flying airplane and the DA100 is very smooth. We could have gotten some weight out with single cylinder power but the vibration might have been a problem besides it`s pretty cool to point it straight up and watch it blast off. Really scale like, NOT!

My thanks to my good friend Rick Barch for doing the majority of the building while I finished up a new garage for Dars old trucks to live in this winter. Now we gotta do some formation flying. I promised Rick I`d stop doing multiple snaps on the uplines. I think he`s worried....

Thanks buddy.

Bill

Gorgeous airplanes! Funny thing is, I was just talking to a couple guys at the field yesterday and said if I could find a giant scale taylor craft I would buy one. So I think I am going to order the plans. What modifications did you guys make to this plane?

Sweet looking guys.

Congrats on the maiden flights.

Are you bringing them to Nall ? You can use them to pull banners to advertise the DOGS Show. See you guys next week.
