Default 9100rx on 40%'s

This may have been covered somewhere else on the site but I thought I'd ask the question here.

I'm thinking about setting up a 40% with 4 x 8611's, 5 x 8711's and 1 x 8301. I'm looking at twin 4200 TP lipos, regulated into a 9100 RX. In theory this should be fine (I think) but thought I'd checkout if anyone has done this? Any alarm bells that should be ringing?

now NOBODY make fun of me here...... but what is the reason for the regulator here? i personally believe in it, but isn't part of the sales pitch that the 9100 will take those batteries unregulated due to the main unit being a bus in and of itself???? just wondering.

I think it is more for the servos than the receiver. Some are running unregulated li batteries on the 8711 but I think it voids the warranty.

I was guessing 7.4 volts into 8711's could end up in smoke but if anyone knew (obviously on the low down) that they could take it, I would hapily take the the additional performance.
It feels weird looking at this kind of size airplane and not looking at a powerbox type system!

They can take it but it will void the warranty.
