I use the 3W-55 on both my Extreme Flight 50cc Yak and Extreme Flight 50cc Extra 300 with a cannister and they perform flawlessly. I couldnt be happier with that motor. I did have a Pitts style muffler on the Yak for about 10 or so flights then switched over after flying the Extra with the Can a few times. Either one will work great but the can is quieter and gives it a performance boost. The 3W-55 is only available through Aircraft International...... Blair

This might cause some flames, but... Like cars: Mercedes or Pinto I fly 3W, and have no regrets. Might cost more, but worth the extra expense. Yes a FORD runs well, but a BMW/MERCEDES have a better fit/finish. Flame-On... ![]() Wayne |

I would recommend the DL over any brand except 3W. My friend has a 3W-50 with a 3W canister on a 19 pound plane and I can 3D that plane all day long. It's a powerhouse once broken-in. 55 should be a beast.

DA-50 or DL-50 in my oppinion... I hear the 3W's like to bite back at you. Not saying anything bad about 3W. A DL for the price and power. I have one, it's truely a beast! Never died, or any problems. Once I put bad fuel in it and it didn't start. Only time I got worried about it.

I have a question about the DL, why is it so much cheaper than everything else? In yurn how can the quality be better than the rest? Thanks

DL50 all the way. I have it in my Yak and it's awesome. I bought it from Bob at DLUSA.net He also has all the parts on hand for it. I broke a prop bolt off in the hub. I called bob and he had me one in two days... for $20. Give him a call and talk to him about his motors. He's an easy enough guy to talk with.

I have never owned or flown a 3W but understand they are great engines. I do have the DL-50 however and it is a great engine. With regards to them cloning another engine, well anyone that's looked closely at the DL and the engine it's supposed to be cloned from would know that was not the case. DL runs better and has more power. I guess anything that has a rear carb is a clone now. Get over it guys, it's not the case.
