Default GP 27% EDGE

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXTYJ0&P=0

Just noticed this yesterday. Anybody have any experience with GP's new line of 3D / IMAC planes? This would be my first gasser.

Thanks,
Eric

It's a good looking Edge (nice scale lines) but it is what many call a "in-betweener". 78" wingspan is on the large side for glow and all the small side for gas. I'd look at a larger 84" or larger wingspan for gas.

I was thinking the same thing. I know for a fact I don't want to run glow. It is not big enough for a DA-50. I was thinking maybe running a 43cc.

You can spend 30 bucks more and get the 84" Wildhare Edge, DA-50 Perfect

I'd second that, we have several people flying Wild Hare 28% planes and they are very, very well built and great flyers. If the price of the DA-50 is killing you there are cheaper options (all with their own quirks, not bad things just issues with support, or finding different exhausts, etc. Several people around here have been flying DL50's from DLUSA.net with great success as well as Brillelli, your mileage may vary) but you can quite often find great deals on used ones as well.

Just my 2 cents,

MadDog Joe

Cost is not really a factor for me with a plane of this size. I will definitely be putting a name brand engine up front. There is something about the WH that I don't really like, not sure what it is. I am VERY picky when it comes to airplanes (scale lines, etc...). I think that is why I like the GP. It has great lines and the color scheme doesn't make it look like a flying NASCAR.
Think a 43cc would work? (fit without chopping the cowl too much)

This seems like it would be a good plane for the Saito 2.20.

This is true. Did not think about that. It might be worth running glow for that engine.

I have a Brillelli 46cc in a similarly sized YAK and have been very happy with it, but of course, the big round cowl hides virtually all of the engine.

Heydick and Mr Nobody has a build thread on this plane with a DL-50 in it.

Have a link by chance? This plane isn't even out yet, and it's not showing on GP's website.
