If you are talking about fuel line wrapped around the back of the tank, that is the vent line. Some do that because for IMAC flying if you have a very long downline manuever, you can leak fuel out of the vent line and it runs down the bottom of the plane, just messy, thats all. This is a good way to prevent that.

"just messy, thats all." I have also come to the notion that I get longer flight times due to all the fuel that I am NOT loosing on downlines! Used to be, only a few who actually deployed this method, now it seems like it is all the rage out there
