Default Need Laundry List From The Experts Please.....

........Because I'm going to be building my first gasser (50cc) shortly and I figured I'd turn to you guy's for a list of the best, most reliable required components. The only thing I have ordered is the plane. All other components are TBD by suggestions and opinions from the FG community. Thanks in advance for the help. (Note: Plane comes with all quality hardware, carbon fiber parts, including spinner and landing gear)

Info:
Plane: EG Aircraft MX2 (50CC)
Engine: TBD
Prop for aerobatic and sport flying: TBD
Radio: Futaba 10C 2.4ghz (Haven't bought it yet so other opinions welcome)
Servos: Thinking about Hitec 7955's
Harnesses: TBD
Switches: TBD
Safety Electronics: TBD
Batteries: TBD (Maybe a backup system is a good idea?)
Other: Please add anything I may be missing

Please include brands and a link to the items if you can so I can consider purchasing it . Thank you.

DA 50
Greeve Pipe (not sure if it will fit in that plane)
Header for the pipe, certain drop for your airplane DA would probably know. Coupler and clamps as well for the header/pipe
JR X9303 (2.4ghz) w/Spektrum AR9100 (9 channels aren't needed for that size plane, but this receiver can go into you're next airplane, even if its larger)
JR 8711s x 6 (5 not including throttle, but again, if you move to a larger airplane, you then have 1 less servo to buy)
Spektrum Soft Switch (Comes with the 9100 reciever)
JR 1 1/2" Servo Arms (need 5 unless rudder is pull pull, then you need 4, and 1 double arm)
For a 50cc, I would run 1 pack, an A123, not sure on mah count, probably in the 4000mah range See here

I've heard good things about the DLE's........ DLE's are avail from TBM or ValleyViewRC. Either a 22x8 or 10 for a break in prop.

Switches..... I just use the regular JR HD charge switch. You can get them about anywhere!

You can use about any battery you want, honestly.... A123's, Lith. Ions, Poly's...........

The FUTABA 10C is a fine choice....

IMHO, the freq hopping is just a more robust method.....
If I didn't believe so, I would still be flying on ham band! (50 mhz)

but then again... I may not qualify as an expert

DA50 w/ stock muffler (unless you need quiet and have room for a cannister muffler)
22x8 NX wood prop (23x8 after break-in)
B&B 16oz tank
JR/Spektrum 2.4 radio & receiver
Fromeco 2600mah batteries (2 for receiver & one for ignition)
Smart-Fly regulators for batts
8611a's for surfaces (only one needed on rudder)
Hitec HS-5245MG Digital Mini Metal Gear (Throttle)
Hitec mini servo of choice (choke) - optional
SWB 1-1/2" servo arms
Hanger9 titanium links - optional

You can keep on going with carbon fiber wing and stab tubes, upgraded main gear, aluminum hub Skylite wheels, etc. Just depends on your budget.

For your first gasser, get a good engine, electrics & servos. Everything else is optional.

you really can't make a "bad decision" with the info listed here at all. if you want to save a little $$ the 7955's are a great choice. they will provide more than enough power for your application and the gear trains are unbeatable.

Also...those hitec will be looking later a bigger home....so you dont have to invest in servos cause 7955 are overkill for a 50cc. But better to make one investement than 2 later.

I'd definately go with a DA-50, on a tuned pipe. RE-2, KS-1060, or greves. I'd ether go with JR 8611a's, 8711s, or Hitec 7955s. They're all good.
Radio; I love my JR XP9303! It's just awesome.
I agree with Seth on the battery. 1, A123 around 4,000mah will do the job well.
Just my $0.02. Congrats on getting your first 50cc! You'll love it!

has anyone figured out how to make a DA on a tuned pipe have a manageable throttle range?? I heard they are like an on-off switch.... (What I heard, no personal experiance myself on this)

but DA is certainly a great choice!

This is a great start. Thanks so much everyone for all the information and links. I'm taking notes and will keep you up to date as I make choices and purchases. My budget is $2500.00 including the plane so I know it will go fast. Keep 'em coming!

I think that's all in the header length. Seems to take some experimentation to get it right, depending on the motor/prop/pipe. But I've seen/flown a lot of pipes with a good power curve.
