Default funtana 40 fuel tank position

hi all.
i have a problem with my saito 82a which is installed in a funtana 40.
have adjusted the low end needle for reliable idle and also top end needle for good power but just on the rich side, the problem is that the engine flames out at about half tank of fuel.
it has been suggested that my tank position is too low but its in the only position that it can be in, in the airframe.
just wondered if any other funtana 40 flyers have come up against this problem with the 40 and 82 combination and did you cure it.
cheers, spodboy.

I bet you have a leak in your stopper. It's either around the rim of the stopper or where the tubes pass through the stopper. Also it could be a little cut or hole in the brass tubing or silicone tubing, inside the tank, at mid tank level. Your tank position is not the problem. It's a plumbing issue. I've had two of these with two different engines.

hi joeairport.
i'm on my second tank now as i did think it might be the tank itself but the problem is still there.
i set the engines low end needle when the tank was full so it might be too lean at half a tank, could this be the problem, just a thought.
have now ordered a glow driver which comes in at idle and goes off at a third throttle, that way i can at least run it rich at the bottom.
shouldn't have to do it though.
