Just got the Eflite Tribute FX this morning - built it - and flew it this evening. Build wouldn't have taken long, but keeping track of 3 boys added to the difficulty a bit. There's not many parts to stick together to finish it. I like how it flies a lot. Rolls really quick, but tames down great too. I couldn't get it to hold the flat spin out of a blender, but that's about all I could find negative. That could be setup too. I was able to knife edge loop it - haven't pulled that trick off ever before! Rolling circles are nice - it just looks neat in the air. Plus, just cruising by was fun too. It tracks nice and is fun. I pulled off the "falling leaf" with it. The long tail looks a bit different on some moves... but oh well. 4 flights this evening must mean it's good. Now if they would just make a bolt on wing version... life would be great. Looks like it wouldn't take all that much to do, but the plane would be heavier in that format. It would make it easier to sneak in the van on a vacation though! Anyone know of such a plane? Thanks, Terry |

Check out this thread for more TFX info. They moved it to partk flyers on FG. Here's a pic of my pimped out TFX. All the aerodynamic stuff really helps out as you can see in the video. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...=tribute+FX+3D http://www.rcuvideos.com/item/9VXFT34WYPBHHNCK Last edited by 3Deranged; 07-16-2007 at 05:32 PM. |

Nice flying! The video was great - what control throws are you running? What "mod" does the most change? I like how clean the plane looks right now - so adding things might be down the road a ways. Is your setup really light? I put a 2000mah 3 cell pack in it & liked the way it would do snap rolls... but was worried about over stressing the wings. I really need to get the hang of a knife edge spin too - that looked cool. I managed to fly the plane on the maiden & take the pictures while flying it too - how dumb is that? |

As much as the bevels will allow! I'm using D47's on all my surfaces and had to make longer carbon servo arms to get the needed throws. The SFG's really help in KE and rolling manuevers but in conjunction with the T-wing the SFG's seem to help out the inverted manuevers. These also help give you a more constant flight speed during pattern type moves. You can even make airfoiled SFG's and that will also help slow things down even more. Don't know what motor you're running but this plane needs to be built light-mines about 17oz. AUW. The TP 3s 1320's or lighter seem to be the ideal setup for this plane. 2000's will be OK in windy conditions but for calm days and great 3D, go with a light setup. My friend Blake has put his thru more hard 3D than a foamie should be subjected to(probably 200-300 flights!) and his is starting to get some fuse wrinkles from stress, but otherwise is still flying well. We have tried the MicroDan 2510 3D /11 x 4.7 and the Razor 2500/Himaxx gearbox/ 12 x 6. Both are great setups. Both use the 1320's.

Rappy Hey i am glad to hear that you like yours as well i had one for only a month but loved it. cermak ESC crapped out in a rolling harrier and DX7 will not fly with 0.0 volts blew 9 fet's off the board and melted a hole in fuse. Oh well gettin another one as soon as the wife leaves for work in the morning. I found that no matter what i did the thing would not blender the tail moment seems just a touch long for the blender to wind up. I tried so hard to get to go into a blender i bent the fuse just behind the canopy. this is by far one of the best foamies i have ever flown. i love the cross between pattern and 3D. FLY IT TILL YOU BEND IT!!!!! It gets better every flight. |

Sorry about your ESC. If you can't get into a blender sounds like you don't have enough elevator and/or aileron throws. Both my friends and mine TFX will do blenders just fine even with SFG's on. We use long servo arms and get a least 45-50 deg. of travel on all surfaces. If you're not using fast servos with enough torque that don't travel enough then that may be the problem. My 2 cents. Have fun with the TFX, they're a blast!
