Default Mini Swift help

I got an MS Composite Mini Swift today, as they didn't have the HyperFlea in stock that I wanted, and plus it was cheaper anyways. So, after about an hour of assembly, and preparations, I finally had a completed flying wing.

Well, I finally worked up the nerve to go out and get it into the air. So, after a few failed launching attempts, I finally got a shakey launch, and into the air. Man, this power system has the power to get that thing going. 60-70mph straight line speed.

So, after about a minute or so of some shakey flying (don't know how I managed to get it flying straight), it finally came down pretty hard. Must have stalled, because it spun down, and I was barely able to recover, before smacking it into the ground, ejecting my battery, and possibly ruining it too.

So, I have a few questions for you wing gurus out there:

1. How do I launch the darn thing? My launch technique doesn't seem to work (grabbing the motor mount, and tossing forward).

2. Could my CG be causing the plane to be squirely? Do I need to move it forward? (Some people told me it's a nice and stable wing, that will get up and go if you want it to)

3. Is my battery toast? It's giving off a strong sweet smell (the big indicator that the cells have been damaged). The battery didn't get hot, nor swell, so that makes me wonder if I really did damage it.

Oh, and the total weight was 163 grams before I added a quarter up front to see how it goes (manufacturer weight is 120-140 grams).
