Default Electric...Really....they are electric

Good evening guys,

We just got back from an awesome all Electric fly in. The Puget Sound Electric Models Fly in was Sat and Sun and man was the weather nice..... for us anyway. It was hot and little breazy in the afternoon but it didnt hardly any of the planes and certainly not the ones we brought.

All three of the plane we took flew on single motor set ups. This included the 35% aviation models Yak 54. The all up weight is 34.5lbs. We are swinging a 32x18 three blade prop. The Yak hovers at just about 1/2 throttle and the slow speed performance is just awesome.

The other plane we flew all week end were the AM 33% Yak 54 and the new 30% AM Extra 260.

Here are a few pix. If you have any questions please just let me know.

Ok Ill bite........How much are these big electrics worth? Give us a run down on each one? One day I want to be flying these things...and I've been solely electric from the start, why not take it right to the top?

Having flown an Extra260 all electric I will say they are awesome!
No kidding either!!!! The quiet is way too cool to try and explain. Snaps make a freakish sound if flown correctly.

E-Flightline is definitely at the front of the pack on the electric scene for biggies.... planes not women...heh heh.

Scary moment... when we hooked up the battery pack it snaps when you plug up to the switch. That is some juice waiting to cut a little 'air' rug.

Good evening guys,

Thanks for all the comments. When you break it all down they are a bit more expensive than the Gas versions, but we hope that will change as the battery prices come down...... they are the killer at this point not the motor or speed controllers.

Ill post a few more pix of the inner workings.

As for power we are running at least 2:1 in all these planes. They all Hover at one or two clicks above 1/2 throttle (and remember this is complete liner throttle curve and we get power all the way through the sticks range of motion) I think it would handle the altitude no problem.

Please let me know if you have any questions........ Ill be happy to help out.

Jeff

PS> Viper you going to be around for the AZ electric fly in? We can use some help keeping these birds in the air. Its pretty tough duty

LUV the Electrics!!!!

If you ever want a showstopper at your local field...show up with a big-E...if the pits area were the highway, it would be bumper to bumper traffic...LOL.

Great job Splash...cant wait to see what you roll out next.
