Default Electrics "Clean UP" Pacific Coast Freestyle Championship

Good day Guys,

We had just an awesome time at the Pacific Coast Freestlye Championships, in Mollala Or. This was our (E-flightline Hobby) first time attending the event and all I can say is we will not miss any more from here on out. It was really well done. The Host and owner of the field was very generous and did a great job organizing and announcing.

We made the trip down with three of our giant scale aerobatic planes and a smaller 40 size Yak for Brandon Woyshnis to fly basic. Our new Precision Aerobatics 35% Extra 330 was just maidened the day before we left (thanks Dave for helping get it ready). The other two aircraft were Aviation Models 33% Yak 54, flown by Brian Webb and Aviation Models 35% Yak 54, flown by Kyle Woyshnis.

Not knowing how well the PA would fly we had Kyle test fly the plane on Thursday night after the basic pilots were done for the day. I told Kyle to turn it loose and see how it peformed. What I didnt know is that the Neu motor installed in the PA was one with the older "softer" gearbox shaft. So of course on one of the wilder horizontial blender the shaft sheered but Kyle was able to bring the plane in with no damage.

Now a HUGE thanks to "pops" for driving down and back on Friday to deliver one of the new hardened shafts for replacement. 7+ hours round trip...... way to go dad, thanks. It was worth it as Kyle flew the PA in a noon time demo on Sat and the plane performed just awesome (see link to video later)

We would like to welcome Brian Webb to the E-flightline familly as our newest sponcered pilot. Since Brian has started flying our planes he has taken a Second at Snohomish, and a First here at the PCFC. This qualified him to fly in the freestyle event more on that later. Brandon Woyshnis flew in basic class and also put on two noon time freestyle demo's.

After flying all three of the planes in practise and demo Kyle decided to fly the 35% AM Yak (not that anything was wrong with the PA but it just needed more time to dial in the trims and mixes). You will be able to see all three rounds of the freestyle soon. Im working on getting the videos uploaded.

There were 12 pilots in the freestyle event who qualified during the IMAC event or were invite's. See the pix below of all the Yellow Shirts.

Final outcome for E-flightline planes were 1st in Sportman (Brian Webb) 1st in Freestyle (Kyle Woyshnis) and 12th in Freestyle (Brian Webb) Brian was in 5th after the first two rounds and it was looking really good for him with "live" music in the background when disaster happened and the 33% Yak went in. It was a bummer but as we all know when you push the envelope sometimes bad things happen. Brandon flew basic and had a very good showing (not sure where he placed in the finals)

We would like to congradulate Kyle, Brian, Brandon and all the guys at the event.

We will have a booth set up next year and do a better job answering all the questions.

Sorry to be so long winded but it was really too much fun to just show some pix

Splash ps.... as always I will be happy to answer any questions I can.

Wasn't there also a cute little 8-year old flying an e-flightline plane in basic?

Ok, guys just got all of Kyle's freestyle rounds posted on the website.

They can be seen here: www.e-flightline.com/movie.htm

a few more pix too........let me know if you get tired of them This is pretty much the last I have. There is one pix of the worst part of the week..... a beautiful 42% Volex went down hard. It was really a shame.

Too bad you can hardly see how kyle almost touch the rudder on the vid of the first round.
-jeff, did your heart skip a beat when you saw kyle do that with your yak?
