There is no great achievement that is not the result of patient working and waiting.

J. G. Holland

Today I maidened one of the most labor intensive projects I've ever worked on. Unorthodox looking and since I'm from the North West, it is "Green". Made out of recycled wings from my late departed Aviation Models Yak and the tail from a 33% Ace Extra 230 it was strange looking to say the least, but that wasn't all... The fuse is diamond shaped looking at the front and of a fish profile from the side. The labors were minor compared to someone who builds kits, but for an ARF man I was overwhelmed yet very glad to learn all that I did. The awesome part was this guy I met through a friend, took me under his wing and walked me through all the major aspects or things he thought were valuable to building. Not only that but he housed the plane and allowed me to spend 2 weeks worth of nights in his build area, at his house, to get this plane in the air. Not to mention that at 74 years old he was jumping up and down off tables to get stuff out of storage for the build and pulling countless midnight build nights. I felt bad until he out worked and had to send my dragging butt home a few times!! Thanks Gary so much for all your help buddy!! I truely could not have done it without you! We got to see the fruits of our labor as it broke ground today and with a few alterations will be a fun plane to fly!!!

And in the end it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.

Abraham Lincoln

I don't know of any words that really impact me as much as these do. Awesome words, awesome.

Ever feel like that?? I do, especially right now with the in-laws. Not on their favorite list, again...

You must be the change you wish to see in the world

Mahatma Gandhi

I think too many people have opinions about how things should be done (RC, politics, economy, etc...), but they only b!tch about them instead of proactively trying to change them.

I believe if you want something different, go out and get it. This also got me in trouble, so choose wisely what you go out and get .

Till tomorrow,

Went out for a maiden today only to find a broken battery wire coming from the ignition. It wasn't visible till I pulled the plug and got intermittent spark when I moved the wire around. Not sure the Big Guy wants me to fly this plane!! This was maiden attempt number 2. Tomorrow is number 3... Third times a charm they say!!

"Obsessed is just a word the lazy use to describe dedicated."~ Unknown Author

Ya know I get this alot. People, especially family describe airplanes and flying as my obsession. I have been into alot of worse things in my life and everyday I thank God for replacing all those bad things with the thrill and adrenalin of flying low and flying hard!

Have a good day!

"Nobody has things just as he would like them. The thing to do is to make a success with what material I have. It is a sheer waste of time and soulpower to imagine what I would do if things were different. They are not different."

Dr Frank Crane

I chose this as the quote of the day because it relates to what I'm doing right now. I had a malfunction on my 30% which sent feedback to my 921 receiver and my plane went in on Friday the 13th. Just a fluke thing, but to be retroactive I traded a pair of CF landing gear for the fuselage of this old funfly plane that is unique looking and lightweight. The plane is to take my undamaged wings and build them onto that airframe. I havee to take a moment and publicly thank Gary Chezem, this guy is a class act and a master craftsman/engine guru. He is gachezem on the Giants and RCUniverse. He has taught me more things in the last couple weeks as we have worked on various projects. Now 2/3 the way through this unique build I'm learning at an astronomical rate about how incidence and squareness of a plane is built in. I've known of these things from building foamies but have only flown ARF's and have never checked the incidence. So in short THANK YOU GARY!

That's all for today.

"No one should be ashamed to admit they are wrong, which is but saying, in other words, that they are wiser today than they were yesterday."

Alexander Pope

My response is that; too few people can admit when they are wrong. People will even lie when they are brought the truth which hurts them all the more.

Image is something I've always been overly concerned about. Real people don't have to worry about this, their actions do the talking. I'm ready to let my actions speak for themselves and hold myself accountable to live by this from here on. It's time to live a better life.
