Hi guys,

I need some HELP.

8 month ago I flew my new 3DHS 120cc extra. on the second day while flying the Airelons started to Violently turn right ( 45-90 degrees instantly). Everytime I corrected the plane the ailerons would do it again( every 1-2 seconds apart) since I'm experienced 3d pilot I managed to land even though it was a hand full as the wing almost clipped the ground repeatedly.
I haven't flew it since as I have other planes.

Today the same thing occurred while flying my 3DHS 120cc Slick. this plane has at least 15 gallons with no trouble. but at around the 6th flight ( after changing both batteries) I went up and the same thing started happening. violent right turns with no inputs. again I managed to land and started to investigate.

on the ground both planes acted normal. No loose wires even when I start the plane and move the wires around nothing happens. when I flew it again the plane started to violently turn right.

the setup on both are identical except the servos. which are
1. Spektrum power safe receiver AR 12120 DSMX
2. Spektrum telemetry Tm 1000
3. Ultra IBEC from Aero-tech
4. Dual battery for receiver
5. No loose wires that I found on either
6. servos on the extra are Savox 1270
7. servos on the SLICK are Futaba BLS 152

the only thing in common is the TX which is Spektrum DX18 GEN 1. but the first event with the EXTRA is 8 month ago and today the SLICK started the same thing. I have 120cc H9 BEAST with the same setup and Foamies with no problems.

my servos on the wings ( servos on each ailerons are matched using the TX.

this is now driving me crazy as I cannot figure out the problem.

I would appreciate any helps or feedback.

hey guys,

I just went TOP DAWG website just to see the specs on the Mintor and I came across a whole new website design and new planes.
I was looking to get the 3DHS SLICK but now saw this.

http://www.topdawgaviation.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=59

I cannot believe that the kit comes that much complete. it has Wires already mounted and comes with Fortitude tank, 4 colors, and many many more. check it out it looks sweeeeeeeet.
I would like to see some more 3d videos to see how this truly flies.

any thoughts ?

Hi,
I have been using Stihl HP ULTRA for couple of years and I love it, My favorite oil. I never had a dead stick in 4X DLE-55 engines. ( KNOCK ON WOOD )
But I have a question and wondering if it is normal to have lots of oil residue on the bottom of the cowl, wings, and stabs/elevator.
I always mix it 50:1 as recommended, and my engine is tuned just right.
Do any of you experience oil residue on your wings/and stabs and if so how much ?
I do not want to mix more gas with the oil since its recommended 50:1 and I’m not looking to do that, just wondering if that’s normal ?
I’m using a HONDA CM6 plug if it makes a difference
Thanks

Hi,
I'm contemplating between getting either the JR XG11 or the Spektrum DX18. I'm currently using the X9503 and I love it, but i'm moving to 100cc planes and both these transmitters have the servo match function and much more.

do any of you have any experience with either ? or any point of view of which one would make a better radio ?

thanks

Hi,

I moved my engine thrust to the right one washer first and then tried it with 2 washers.
it seems to hover better at ZERO washers and when I took the thrust to the right it wanted to go Left in a hover. and got worse when I put 2 washers of right thrust.
so with 2 washers of right thrust it wanted to go left and required a lot of constant right rudder to keep it from going left
I tried this with my 50cc gasser and 57" extra electric and both planes did the same thing

Does anyone know why this happens ?

thanks

Hi,
I just got a new plane ( Extra 330sc ) and it is hard to hover. It’s wants to fall towards the belly quickly and requires a lot of elevator to keep it up.
I have other planes that hover with almost no Elevator to some, But this one is a hands full.
Does anyone know why this might be happening ? and how to correct it ?
also in a verticle clib it goes towards the belley a lot. when moving the CG forwards it goes away but then its nose heavy

Could it be the down thrust or incidence

I appreciate anyone’s help

Hi guys,

does anyone know about this new yak and when it will be released ?
according to video it should have been out this summer or fall ?

I think the one's online now are the old style since they don't have the insane Elevator and Throws. but i cannot be sure

if it will be released is it going to be only for the Yak or will it include the EDGE & EXTRA.

I appreciate if anyone has any info on this

Hi Guys,

I would like your help on this topic.

I would like to buy an EXTRA and want to compare OMP vs. EF
I currently have an OMP yak with DLE 55 and all I can say is wow. This plane is amazing, extremely light, and can do a pretty much anything, it also hovers real real easy.
The DLE 55 is a beast. I have 2X A123 Batt for redundancy, Aero-tech design ULTRA IBEC ( which eliminates the need for an ignition batt, takes the power straight from the receiver ) , XQ 4020 servos on controls, and for rudder Hitec 7955
I have had this setup on four other Gasser's and never had one of the XQ 20kg fail. GREAT SERVOS
and I recommend all of you to try the ULTRA IBEC, its an AMAZING product, and amazing customer service too.

I never had the pleasure of flying EF, but I just met a guy at our field who has one, I helped him carry it from the bench and noticed that it was a bit heavier than mine. the fuse of this plane is really huge.
He has a DA 50 with a pipe on it, and I can tell that its a little under power (or mine is extremely over power),
I was really really impressed with the way it flies, it flew exceptionally well.

I cannot compare the Yak to the Extra, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with OMP and EF EXTRA to compare the two.

Just one last note
the OMP costs $650 shipped that's including the spinner
the EF costs $650 without spinner(around $50 additional) and I believe that shipping is going to be between $100-$150.
so there is around a $150-$200 difference in price.

I appreciate your input and hope that your comment wont be biased towards any plane but just the difference between both, pros & cons

thanks guys
