Not a full build log, just some thoughts. Initial impression is of very good quality. Actually glad to have a little older one that has pinned hinges. Just dip the hinge point in a little vasoline and work it back and forth to keep from getting glue in the hinge point. I leave them sit bent fully and only one control surface at a time to prevent contamination of the shaft section. The Blenderm tape has more resistance to movement than the hinges.

On the linkages I added a washer to each side of the linkage inside the horns because I didn't like the idea of adding stress to the fiberglass horns.

It always bothers me when there is instructions to use a particular diameter size screw, but multiple lengths are supplied but not specified.

Now to install the little hex screws for the cowl and the landing gear, I took some 1/4 inch aluminum rod, drilled and threaded the ends, and then cross drilled holes to insert the different size Allen wrenches.

The. I would take the screw, washer, and lock washer, and take a small price of black tape and attached them to the foot long Allen wrench I just made. After I got each one started I could pull the tool out and then remove the tape with a pair of needle owe On one side I had to open up the hole in the side of the fuselage to get the screws to lineup.

Also opened up the hole in the former for the pull pull cables.

One other thing that made life a little easier was when I was installing the little aluminum brackets for the incedence adjustment I woul start one screw in it, then take some double sided scotch tape to hold it in place while I got the second screw started.

Now I just need to finish tying up the wires and balance it and should be ready to maiden.

One last thought at the moment, you need bigger than a 6 foot table to work comfortably on a 2M plane.

I bought an unopened Vanquish 2M kit. The overall fit and finish seems to be very good, except for one thing. The right horizontal stabilizer incidence adjuster has the srews backed out and is loose. My wife and I both talked to Curtis Cozier, the operations manager, at Extreme Flight, and all he said, in a nasty way, was that we could send them more money to get a replacement set, because we were not the original purchasers of the kit, and even though I sent him a picture showing that the parts had never even been removed from the bags. This was a factory defect, and even though maybe I didn't purchase it directly from Extreme Flight, somebody did purchase it from them and they received the money for it. I have seen many glowing posts about this company, but I for one will never buy another kit from them. When my wife spends a weeks pay to buy me a special birthday gift, and a plane that is supposed to be of this caliber, if it was a virgin part, you would think they would stand behind it.
