Back when Mile Square Park's hobby area was still in existence, before the County of Orange took it away it from the hobbyists to put in a 18 hole golf course. There were quite a few people creating custom schemes on there bi-planes. One guy did Mobil Oil, another did Shell Oil, another did Union 76, and I wanted to come up with something quite different from the people out at the field. So I talked to my builder at the time and we decided to do a Home Improvement Binford Tools 6100 bi-plane. We took about 100 photos of the plane and made a package up and sent it to the producers of Home Improvement TV series. Unfortunately this was about the time the series was about to be cancelled. I waited to fly this plane for 11 months hoping to hear back from them. It would have been very cool to have the plane on the show. The bi-plane was lightened up to 8 pounds 3oz dry. Powered by a Y.S. 91AC, Bolly 15x7, JR mini servos, and of course Futaba guidance. This plane was insane. This was the first plane I learned how to do tail touches and hover with. This scheme got all kinds of looks at the field.
Here we have some old pictures from back in the day. Some pics I even had long hair "Heavy Metal".....lol. I still can't believe it.
Here are some miscellaneous pictures from my hangar.
My Comp Arf Yak55Sp 2.6m is the best flying plane I have flown yet. This plane flies smooth, locks into the maneuver and holds it with very little effort. The plane is a joy to fly and looks sharp. Powered by a Brison 6.4ci and Vess prop. JR and Hitec digital servos, guidance by Futaba.
My other picture is of a 35% RadioCraft Staudacher. BME 100, Carbon prop and spinner, JR digital servos, Futaba guidance. 24 pounds. Wonderful flying plane and LIGHT.

After many years of my dad talking about writing his story. He finally wrote his book and it has been published. This must have been a very difficult task for my dad.
About the Book
In the 1930s, as the political climate starts to shift and the most insidious evil begins to envelope Europe, Karl Rothstein is born to Jewish parents in Austria. As his life unfolds, he and his family suffer the rampant anti-Semitism that led to the annihilation of six million Jews.
Young Karl watches as Hitler’s armies instruct the children in his kindergarten to march as soldiers. He also watches as Nazis order his family from their home, arrest his father, and wreak unspeakable terror, havoc, and destruction on the Jewish community. He witnesses the events of Kristallnacht – the night of broken glass – a night of such remarkable destruction, it would later be considered by historians to be a dress rehearsal for the Holocaust.
Before World War II is over, Karl will lose his brother and grandparents, and spend years in hiding.
This is the true story of one man’s pilgrimage to freedom – a journey that began on the day he reported with his family to the train station, where they were to board the train to a concentration camp.
Under the watchful eye of what could only be seen as a guardian angel, young Karl would safely cross the border with his family into Switzerland, live under the radar of the authorities for years, and eventually make his way to Israel and the U.S.
Only a lifetime later would Karl Rothstein, now living under his Hebrew name of Dan xxxxx, know the true meaning of freedom – to be able to come and go without threat of harassment, arrest, oppression, or death. Only after enduring great losses would he be free to honor the calling of his own heart, and live his life openly and freely as a Jew.

Alpha A-4. This baby was set up for 2100mAh 4S 14.8v and was very quick in my opinion. I purchased this plane complete from Hole Digger on RC Groups. I believe the plane was built by Corsair nut. Pictures were taken by previous owner. This plane was just to small and fast for me to see. I sold it after 4 flights.
The first picture is of my dad with his two RC single stick airplane transmitters.
The second picture is a close up of my dad's Airtronics and Kraft single stick airplane transmitters. This is a dead breed of transmitters. I have only been able to find them used. They are no longer in production.
The third, fourth, and fifth picture are of my dad and his P-51 mustang. Pictures are taken at the legendary Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley, California.

I was exposed to the hobby at a very young age by my dad. In the first picture with the Mirage Jet and the Andrews Trainermaster I was about 4 years old.
In the second picture with my dads Aeromaster Bi-plane. I was about 7 years old.
