1/4 scale aerobatic airframes rock!
A good friend talked me into building and flying a gas aerobatic airframe. I purchased a PeakModels 25% Yak 54 and built it around the side carb DLE30. Having spent the last 3 years in hard core electric aerobatic setups, the learning curve on setting up and flying a gas airplane was a little steep
Key learning lessons have been, never fly too far from the runway, check the fuel line plumbing regularly, set the "flying idle" higher than what you use on the ground, Just because you call out your takeoff/landings doesn't mean everyone else will, bigger does in fact fly better
Today, the home hange (garage) has the 30cc Slipstream Sbach, Sapac 26cc Extra 330L, 30cc 3DHS AJ Slick and the Peak Model 30cc Yak 54 hanging from the ceiling. 1/4 scale aerobatic airplanes rock!
