In Memory of Allen Taylor
I was 6 years old just about to turn 7 when I first laid my hands on a R/C Aircraft. I would always follow my Granddad to the barn to see what he was working on and love spending time with him. When I was 7 years old I first soloed my R/C Aircraft and that day I knew what I wanted to do with my life and that is fly.
On my solo certificate there is a signature of a witness of a man that I will never forget. His name is Allen Taylor. Allen was known throughout the whole Southeast Region of the US. He attended many Joe Nalls, Top Guns, and TOCs to watch. He taught me the basics of Aerobatic flying and introduced me to Giant Scale Aircraft. Allen also taught me a lot about Fun Fly Contest also. When I was in 7th Grade Allen was diagnose with a Brain tumor that ended his r/c flying. Back then I had the 1/3 Scale Sukhoi and he could barely see what I was doing. My 9th grade year Allen passed away. He left me with the last R/C plane he ever flew. That plane was brand new and he took it off and crashed it on its first flight due to he didn't know what to do with the controls. After visiting the doctor he then found out about the Brain Tumor. When he passed he left that plane for me and we fixed it up and I still fly it today.
2005 we got the 42% Dalton 260 and in Feb 2006 it first flew. That plane was named after him and I flew it in my first ever invitational event at the 2008 XFC. Right after the XFC I retired that plane. It may fly another day, but for now it is recognize for two things. It was built by my Grandfather and it was named after a great friend of mine that I lost. Without him I wouldn't be where I am today. He CD many events, and today I am doing the same.
I know Allen is always looking down at me when I am at the flying field.

DA-120 Rocks
Buying the new DA-120 made my plane weigh 3lbs lighter. The OMP Yak is a beast now and I love how it flies! That ole 3w 100 was just wearing out. I believe it was close to 10 years old, probably older!
Daytona
Well I been down here at school at Daytona for three weeks now. So far I am really enjoying it. Luckily I still get to fly!!!
Tomorrow we depart
Tomorrow at 1:00 PM we will depart for Muncie Indiana for the 2008 XFC. I have probably put over 40 flights on my Dalton Aviation Extra 260.
This will be an event I will never forget I just wish a very good friend of mine Allen Taylor could see me in person this weekend fly in this event. I know though he will be looking down from the sky and be there will with me. I would not be where I am today without him.
I plan to go down and just do my best and have a great time no matter what place I finish in. This will give me great experience. I just hope everyone makes it down safely. Good luck to everyone competing. Less than 24 hours we depart for good ole Muncie!!!!

XFC 5 Days
I really dont think my Dalton 260 has ever flown this much before. I bet I have put close to 35 flights on this plane in a week! I have been out at the field this past Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday practicing for the XFC. This past week was my only week to really practice due to me graduating the week before from high school. I am still not full ready but I am going to go down and give it my best shot. Luckily though I did get the known maneuvers down!!! Plus I still got Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday to practice. We plan to leave out Wednesday around noon and head half way or more then spend the night somewhere and Thursday morning finish it off!!! Yes I will be nervous but going to try to have a lot of fun!!!
Time to Fly
There has been no time for me to fly lately due to sports and senior year in high school. But yesterday I finally was able to go out to the field and just hang out with everyone. After being out there I am so ready to fly again. Hopefully this weekend I will have time to fly!!!!
