a single 5955 on push-pull is fine. It's a much simpler setup...more precise as well. As far as more stress...doesn't matter whether the rudder is pulling or pushing on the arm....torque is torque regardless of which direction it's moving.
The 5955 is a rock-solid servo...I've got some with well over 100 flights of single-servo ail. use that aren't showing a bit of wear...won't hesitate to use them in a new airframe.
