I drove five hours down to the St. George President's Day fly-in, which was actually the weekend after President's Day. It was hosted by the "Remote Possibilities RC Club" out of St. George, and it was a real blast. Incredibly nice people, and a TON of sweet planes.
At one point, my wife jerked spasmotically and let out a shriek. She quickly started looking for our kids and she shouted "he's out of control".
I looked over at the field and saw a chopper going wild over the air strip, and asked the nearest spectator who it was.
"That's Danny Szabo" he said, and I got a chill. I said "No way! Nobody said he was going to be here, quick get my camera honey, this guy's one of the best chopper pilots in the world." She looked at me with disbelief, and looked back out at the field, realizing that he was doing all those spasmotic gyrations intentionally.
So I got most of his performance on tape, though I'm sure the show was a bit shorter than he intended.
Enjoy!
