Default Pacific Planes Yak 54

I just received my New Pacific Planes 30% Yak 54 ARF this past week.I told Rich from Pacific that I would start a thread on this kit and that I would be 100% honest so here we go. So far it has been an adventure to say the least. I am 100% happy with the customer service Rich and Blake from Pacific have given me and they have been VERY helpfull with all my problems and concerns. The plane I recieved had a damaged canopy and the paint was flawed and chipping some on the cowl. Blake was going to ship me another entire plane but we decided to just switch out the canopy and the cowl. Well that idea was good but the reality was the replacement canopy would not fit my fuselage with out MAJOR mods. So what we did was yesterday evening I met Rich in Peoria IL and we switched out all the parts that had problems for good parts. The left wing does have a small gap where it fits into the fuselage socket that I will fill with some thin balsa and then cover and I still don't like the rudder hinges so I'll have to redo those(which I will cover in the build thread)and I am going to finess the cowl with some 1400 papaer and have it cleared coated, but Other than that I'm Satisfied. I realize this is the first shakedown run for these planes and other than the covering these are nothing like the EF yak's. I realize that you can't get 100% perfection on a first run plane and Rich has 100% assured me that he is making huge changes to refine the next batch of planes. I'm going to start a build thread soon for this bird so stay tuned, I think this is gonna be a keeper. In this industry customer service is the very Key to keep you in business and I think Rich will be around for quite a while.
