My XPS JR 9303 flew today
XPS report
I just returned from my XPS test flight:
25mph gusting winds
Cold 50 degrees
Radio: 9303H
Synergy
OS 91szps
SB-18
1900 headspeed
Futaba 9351's, no tab trimming needed (thank you very much)
ATG governor
I simply swapped out my JR 649pcm receiver one channel at a time. Did the binding, charged everything and waited for decent weather.
I didn't change any trims, sub trims, governor settings, etc. Just a simple receiver swap.
Took the synergy up in a hover, flip the idle up switch to check out the governor, and off I went.
The heli flew great. Too windy to tell if things are faster, more connected, etc.
Did some high climb outs, lots of tumbles, flips, piros, rolls, stall turns, etc. A 90mph heli can really cover some ground with a 25mph tail wind!! It got small in a hurry. Not a single hickup.
No antennae to route, simple drop in replacement, easy set up. Immune to electric and mechanical noise. Exactly what I was hoping for.
I can simply unplug the xps module, reinstall my JR 72mhz module, twist on my rubber ducky antennae and be back in the 72mhz game in 30 seconds flat to fly my JR receiver guided planes, etc.
The small parkflyer xps receiver will have no antennae at all exposed, as it is a chip on the board. How great will that be?
I can't wait to fly during calm conditions where I can compare the way the heli feels with the xps vs. JR pcm.
I also have a DX7 to play with. I have it installed in my second synergy, so I hope to see if one system feels faster and more connected than the other.
