Re: My first gasser motor install....look ok?
Hey sweetpea.........yes , i will definetly have the clamps all mounted up as well , but i can't do that until i get my gear installed. I'm sending off my gear to Mike at Graphtech , to get a set of CF gear made to offset some of the weight of the motor mount and cannister's.
Ron.....For some odd reason , this airplane fly's well with "0" degree's thrust , for 3D type flying. the guys doing IMAC with it however are adding about 3 Degree's right thrust and about 1-2 degree down thrust. I'm going to start out with "0" and work my way up from there. I made the mount so it's going to be easy to add a little right thrust if i need to.
as far as the electronics goes......it's going with a SF power expander pro , SF turbo reg , SF optical kill switch , all fromeco switches , batteries and the one regulator for the ignition. Servo's will be 5955's everywhere except throttle.
Hopefully , by the time i get my gear back , i'll have the rest of my servo's and switches. As of right now though , i made a set of shorter landing gear so it's easier to work on it on my table. It was great for working on the smaller planes , but sheeeesh......these gasser's are bigger. gary's 33% SD yak is tall.......mine is going to sit about 4" taller than that. I think i'm going to modify my table a little at the end and make some type of a cradel of some type to hold my plane.
IF......everything goes right , i should be able to maiden it within about 3-4 weeks tops.........i'm hoping anyways. I just want to fly it in june some time.......that marks my one year of flying , and i told myself i wanted to be flying a gasser in a year. last june , i was flying a worlds model high wing skyraider...HAHA!! Hopefully my sukoi will fly better........i'm having a good feeling it will.
