I was planning to stay with dual 2500 mah 6v Radical RC packs. Just a little shy to the A123's as of now.
In terms of amp delivery availability, the A123's are WAY more than enough. I am running two on my 35%er. they only weigh 5.5 ounces each and don't require regulators. If you are looking to save weight while not having to worry about votage drop, the killer setup would be two of the A123's plugged directly into a Smart-fly Power expander Pro (no switches), and then use the smart-switch integrated in the power expander. This would make for a 13 ounce power system for your receiver that will flat out-perform li-ions. The only slight downfall is the lower capacity, but a 40%er only burns about 650mah per flight, so you'd be good for 5-6 flights, easy. If you need more, throw a quick charge on them (they can be safely charged at 5C+) and you're good to go.
