Come to Christchurch. Joe Wurts found it was the place to come live so follow his example

There are several friendly clubs within 30min drive of most places. I would be happy to give you a model to fly if you come and show you around the local sites. I fly Indoor, Scale, Gliders (slope, scale, F3B), aerobatics.. you name it i probably fly it, so could accommodate you with everything
