Default Re: Yak Attack....

Jim,

I have exactly the same opinion as you. I love the G4 Yak (no mods needed!) and wonder if anything in real life can come close.

The "torque generator" says it's based on a 3W 70cc motor and it seems to fly a lot more "nimbly" than I think a 100cc (ie 35%) plane would fly so I think the size is accurate for a 90" span plane. HOWEVER, the rolls are SO quick and the power is so good (when I punch the throttle, my God, it surely punches through whatever I'm doing RIGHT NOW) I can't believe this represents any actual powered plane in reality. It's like I imagine having a 100cc motor with the weight of a 50cc in a 14 lb plane, despite the listed weight of 26 lbs.

I'm very close to buying the AW 75CC Yak QB with a DA 85 cause I think that's the closest I'll ever get to my dream.

Here's my fav scheme courtesy of the knife edge swap forums "Grey Dog"
