I have even seen 50cc engines on Profile type aircraft. Just beef up the firewall a little and use good throttle management. Guys are know adding 50cc powerplants on 25% planes with great success.
I have a DL-50 that I am trying to use for this project. The spec says 3lbs.I have not weighed it yet.

The GB Wild Stik 1.20 has a flying weight of about 10lbs, is already a tail dragger, has a wing area of 1315 sq in, and has 3D size control surfaces. This ARF is only $120 so I could consider moving the firewall back and a smaller tank to help with any CG issues. Well, just an idea. I would like to get this on a smaller, less expensive plane to start.

The Giant Big stick has more wing area and rated heavier but I know it is nose heavy to start with. I checked the manual and they talk about using a Fuji BT-32. That engine is 4.11lbs with Muffler, bolts, etc. It also says that there is a plywood engine mount plate and standoffs for that engine. If it can take a 4lb Fuji, the 3lb DL-50 should work?

I may not find the solution I am looking for but I appreciate the help in the hunt. The Giant Big Stik may be the best compromise.
