I have the same plane with a different scheme and I had a gap on the right stab as well and I found that I had to sand the edges of the stab root towards the leading edge to get a good fit. Once you get the stabs mounted I.E. stab tube drilled and tapped and ready for flight it will be a good idea to smear a little silicone on the edges of the stab roots to 1. help seal the gap and 2. keep the composite from possibly rubbing and making a permanent mark on the fuse. I have a pic of mine that I will post as soon as I can. Also I found an FG member that has built quite a few of the 2.3m's and he showed me a valuable landing gear strengthening modification that you should do as well. As soon as I get a chance I will post pictures and a description of the landing gear modification.
