Before I made the tube socket, I made a little test stand to see how a 7806 regulator would stand up as I am using one of these for each servo in my airplane instead of going to the high priced single units.

The results so far using a Multiplex Jumbo digital servo with 300 in/oz of torque connected to a heavy weight of metal you see in the photo. has been running non stop for well over two hours so far with a servo excerciser set at high speed.

After two hours, the 60 cent regulator is barelly warm to the touch and it is covered with a heat shrink wrap you see here in green..
In the second picture, I added the extra weight you see here and this is the weight its been with for two hours and I will leave it there for most of the day...
