Re: CRRC Pro GF26I
Just in case the last 2 posts didn't help you get the message, I got the engine to run, and I flew a fairly successful test flight of 15 minutes.
After I plugged the metal thing back in the carb with JB Weld, I put the carb back on the engine, and it was doing the same *****. I lost my mind and threw the carb in my fish tank. I knew this had something to do with the carb, so I pulled a Walbro WT 419 out of my reliable BCMA 26 and bolted it on to the CRRC. Perfect fit.
The venturi thingamabob is a little smaller on the 419, so I lost a couple RPM, but man, this thing runs like a Honda. No problems.
There is one thing though. The engine significantly richens up in flight, so I'm gonna have to run a line from the diaphragm plate into the fuse.
So yea, that's about it. It's been a long stress-inducing, life-shortening journey, but I learned a whole lot about carbs and tuning, and I think I'll be set for now.
Thanks for all your guys' help. This pic. is no longer a mark of shame.
