That's what I was planning on doing but my work leaves me very little time to work on the plane  It has the Robart-style hinges on it already - if they had ALL come out I'd probably just go ahead and re-hinge but the one that's still in there is gonna be a b*tch!  |

Just cut it, re-cut/grind it flush with surface and wing panel.
Drill new holes over 1/2 inch and install new hinge. Reglue the rest.
