Default Re: hi everyone... newbie needs advice...

No worries Ferret. You will be spoiled for life going to gassers! Take your time with break in and you'll probably never wear one out. Lubrication and temperatures= lifespan. I'm sure Howie will give you the manufacturer's recomended proceedure on that. You won't believe how little mess gets on a plane with a gasser after your time with nitro planes. Dust 'em off and there you are (almost!)

Best piece of advice I can give you is DO NOT TRY TO SAVE MONEY ON SERVOS!! Buy the best. Jr/Futaba/Hitec what ever, only buy the very top of the line. You might have to skip lunch for a while to cover the extra money, but you will thank me.

Go with dual batteries with dual switches. Single receiver/dual receiver/ power box your call. A million opinions there!!

The plane flys light as a feather. Not sure about coupling as I've not looked at the program. I'm sure there is as biplanes just tend to need it. One thing you will really love is the rudder! Knife edge requires about 1/2 an inch! It will take a while for you to get used to that. Best way to go there is start out with low rate rudder about an inch either way of center. Fly knife edge and keep reducing the throw until it wil climb slightly at full deflection. Best way to get used to the plane and keep things smooth.

You're going to love the plane!! Thanks for being here dude!
