As long as you are away from the muffler heat with the tygon it should be ok i usually run the black neopreme 3 or 4 inches next to the fitting of muffler and yes you can lay the tanks as you described no problem just make sure your vent line is still at the top of tank and mark them so you know which is clunk and which is vent .
