This was a nice weekend. Woke up 1/2 hung over Saturday, started painting around 11:30 am, finished colors 8 hrs later. Woke up 0730 Sunday, went and fly my Dalton Extra 300 DA170, Greve pipe combination on the Mezjlick 30x12 prop!!! Man - that thing moves awesome. Came home, constructed my new painting stand ($25.00 in stuff from Home Depot), then painted clear.
The Nason clear (dupont stuff) says to mix it 4 parts clear to 1 part activator, and indicates no reducer. For the chinny, I used a 4/1/1 mixture and did add 1 part reducer anyways. For the fuselage and canopy, I used a 4/1/2 -2 parts reducer. The rotisery thing made the fuselage much easier to shoot and then roll into the garage for curing. At this point, the whole this is wet-out nicely.
Thanks,
Jim |

BAM! Looks killer Jim.
You did the right thing with the 4:1 Nason Clear. It doesn't say anytning about reducer on the bottle, but it will flow out better with 1 part reducer with the correct temp hardner.
Now your covering will look dull.
