When somebody would complain about their old car, we used to suggest that they jack up the radiator cap and drive a new car underneath.

I'm kind of thinking that you could replace that airplane with a more contemporary model that flies better for less money and certainly a lot less work thah trying to rehabilitate it.

And the G62 does not need to be a problem, it's a good engine, you just need a plane with less weight and more wing area. You are probably under 1200 square inches, get something up around 1450 that will weigh 17-18 pounds and you'll be much happier.
