Re: C of G woes
With the plane trimmed out to fly level, and flying level, cut the throttle to idle. If it climbs, it's tail heavy. if it noses down, it's nose heavy. Depending on your flying style, you may want it a little nose or tail heavy. If you want to check CG on the ground (assuming you don't have the assembly guide to tell you where the CG is) a good starting point is to check the CG at the line of the wing tube (or the fattest part of the wing).
