Default 100cc Experiment

Hey Guys:

Man I love the internet...trading of knowledge...great stuff!

I have a question. I have been experiementing with a design for just short of a year. To date, only powered with electrics.

At this point, I have a 102" version of this design. I have only 13min of flight time on the frame and so far very pleased with the results.

I have posted info on this in the Ohm My forum...thinking the way I did before I got into electrics about a year ago, I probably would have steered clear of looking at electrics.

As we all know, who have used electric power systems, batteries are still VERY expensive, especially when you get up into the big stuff.

I am thinking of building another of this large plane and putting a 100cc gas on it.

Stats for the plane are:

Span 102"
Lenth 114"
Weight (w/o electric motor and batteries) 18.5lbs
2677sq in wing area

I am pretty sure 100cc is the right motor for this plane. At this point I could buy a gas engine or larger batteries for this project for nearly the same price...point is happy with the power of the e system I have...just batteries are mucho dinero!

Are any of you flying large "profile" type airframes this large with success?
Is 100cc the right power?

Do you think this project is plausible?
