Default Re: 3.3m comp-arf yak 55 video?

Check out Mark Trent's site. I may be wrong, but I think that is what his big orange Yak is, and I know that plane has a DA150 in it. I saw it fly at the XFC and it had enough power to 3D, but it may be just a little underpowered. That is a big plane, don't get me wrong, I do not mean any disrespect to Mark or his plane at all. I just think for the size of that plane it may be just a tad underpowered. Now Mark does toss the thing around quite well with that engine. Now keep in mind, when I saw Mark fly that plane at the XFC it was very hot and humid. I believe the elevation is around 700 feet, and I am pretty sure the plane had stock mufflers installed. I would be willing to bet that with a set of Greeve tuned pipes, and better weather, the DA150 would make plenty of power in that airframe.

Let me just make sure that everybody understands...this is just my obversations of that aircraft. I may be wrong on all accounts, and if so, please correct me. DA makes an awesome engine, I own a 150 myself, and love it. That Yak is just a big plane.
