Mine has Likeline electric retracts which are STRONG but HEAVY!!! My P-51 weighs ~40 lbs and I have a Quadra 75 in it which flys it okay but I have a 100 that I intend to swap it with. It has been ~12 years since I built this one but something I had to repair twice is the tailwheel. My tailwheel mount broke loose or more specifically the bulkheads that the bracket mounts to, broke loose from the fuselage sheeting/stringers. I would definitely "beef up" this area.

Better late than never! Thanks for the information. I'm not familiar with Likeline retracts. Are they still being made? Your tip about the tail wheel mounting is exactly the kind of information I was hoping for. Thanks

Did you build in a lot of reinforcement elsewhere? How do you like the flying characteristics of the plane? How does it stall and land at 40 lbs.??
