Default Re: Bud Nosen P-51 help

As of last year Hank Likes was still selling his retracts. He lives up my way and I see him around now and then. I'll see if I can find his number and post it. As I said, they are heavy...~10lbs with wheels and battery pack and are not cheap but are strong and great realism....slow retraction and extension...~5-7 seconds....COOL! as mentioned in a previous post the wing should be strengthened a bit....especially in the retract mount ribs.

Mine flys very nice at 40lbs. As I said...a bit under powered with the Q75 currently in it. It slows down very nice on landing BUT....you need to keep the nose DOWN and a few clicks of throttle on before flairing. I was reminded of this last year!!! I have mainly been flying the big aerobatic ARF's the past several years that land like a FEATHER and made the mistake of landing the P51 like that. Well the wings started stalling, wobbling a few feet off the ground and I hit the ground hard on one wheel....It ripped out the retract unit. Minor damage to the wing and none to the gear so it will be an easy fix.....
