Default re: Something Fun for Joe Nall - aiming for 100 T-28's at once

Ok guys, I have just finished talking with Joe Nall event CD, Mike Gregory, about our T-28 plans and verified the timing etc. First, he was all for it and said things like "that will be great!". Second, we discussed the official policies for the event. The flight lines will remain open until 7:00 pm each evening (except Thursday as noted below) so we'll have to push our time back to then to fly non-IMAA aircraft. And for insurance purposes, anyone flying anything on the Triple Tree grounds must be a registered pilot. So there you have it. It's now official!

Official Parkzone T-28 Mass Launch
"Operation Trojan Overcast"

"Wave #1" - Wednesday, May 13, 7:00 pm
on the main flight line

"Main Invasion" - Thursday, May 14, 6:00 pm
on the main flight line
(this time is corrected as shown due to AMA meeting @ 7:00)

Let's gather about an hour ahead of time to put our aircraft in a group near the gazebo and pose for pictures, etc. We'll also have a quick and informal "pilot's meeting" at that time. Then, at our assigned time, we'll commence "Operation Trojan Overcast".

This is going to be very frequency dependant since there will certainly be flying activity at each of the other three sites that will be using some of the available 2.4 ghz freqs. But, I think that the main runway is the only one allowing 72 mhz, which should add to the numbers a bit if yours in on that band. Please plan accordingly. We'll try to get as many in the air at one time as we can!
