I'm happy to see that there will be another kit vendor again. I'm 100% sure there is a market for the right kind of product from the right kind of company.
From a customer service standpoint I think the best thing you can do is be engaged with the community and be transparent. If you see that some mod is being done by builders and it improves the experience of building or owning the airplane then credit them and incorporate it into the design. Talk with builders, encourage build threads, be available for support on forums as well as by e-mail.
Hardware packs are a great idea. Throw a couple of nice vinyl graphics in there as well with your logo.
I'm waiting for someone to offer pre-cut covering, the way they do for ARF's. You could have a "Signature" scheme for each airplane and make the covering available as an optional extra as well as pre-painted fiberglass parts.
Someone needs to do a Slick 540, Yak-55, MX2/MXS. Lots of good options out there now for IMAC airframes that are not being kitted. |
