Re: PAU 43% Edge
I flew the Edge today for its maiden and I was very impressed. It was very windy when I took off but the plane handled it flawlessly. Even with the wind the best description for thr first flight was "SMOOTH". It took one click of up elevator to trim it out. I did the usual loops, spins and rolls and I felt very comfortable right away. Landing in the wind was no problem I greased it in.
I waited a while before my next flight and the wind died down some. Snaps were crisp and stopped on a dime. Tumbles with the plane are awesome! I went up high and pointed it down and did a blender. The plane went into the inverted flatspin very smoothly and came right out when I was ready. Next I went into a wall, and the plane just stoppped in its tracks and hung there and then I started a torque roll. No surprises and the plane was very easy to handle. I pulled out of the torque roll and went into a rolling harrier. I went all around the field and felt very confident with it. Knife edge flight is nice. No pushing or pulling. Inverted flight took hardly any elevator input so I feel the cg is ok. I was a little concerned with the cg since I mounted the rudder servos in the tail on a push/pull and I have 2 servos on each elevator. I mounted the 2 5200 mah fromco;s and 1 2600 in front of the fuel tank and it feels good there. The DA 150 pulls the plane around with authority and as always ran flawlessly. I'm running a Mejzlic 30/12 and stock mufflers. Emcotec power distribution, 5955's on all surfaces, 8611A on throttle.
Now I can't wait for a calm day to get out with it. I am very happy with the plane. It flies awesome!
