im wondering about your cg... if its hands off inverted that is usually pretty tail heavy. if you release the throttle and it pulls to canopy while slowing down that's cg. i don't think an upline and downline would show this.

He did say that when inverted it is almost hands off, so he is maintaining level flight while inverted by addng a bit of down elevator (not sure how much cause it depends on your definition of a bit).
Maybe moving the cg forward a bit, which means a little more down elevator while inverted, may correct the original problem. Something to try out and then recheck all the trims. I am a little worried about the throttle - elevator mix, even though it corrects the problem. It may cause some other flight issues and it may not.
