When your engine runs with the glow plug on but not without it, you are either rich, or you need a new plug. You said that you set the idle flush with the arm and then started to back it out, that is making it more rich (and the factory setting is usually very rich on the low end). Reset it back to the factory setting and start turning it IN a quarter at a time, if your idle rpm peaks and then drops off, back it out a little richer than the peak. If it STILL won't run when you take the glow starter off after that, time for a new glow plug (and yes OS "F" plugs are all I ever used in my saito .82).

Well, tried a brand new plug, no luck at all. Set it back to the factory low end and it will start, but when i pull the glow it dies. So, if i rev it up to full throttle set the high end with the tach and am getting about 9,000RPM, and pull the plug it runs, but then back the throttle off and it dies about 7,000RPM everytime. Tried leaning the low end a bit again, no luck. I am really out of ideas now...
